Project Title: Technology Conference Proposal
Project Focus: Communicating about effective technology use (focus 2)
Project Description:
For project two I will create a technology conference presentation proposal along with the appropriate powerpoint. The proposal will be about the design, development, and implementation of an online assessment for the Intern Grant program at CSUSB. The purpose of the assessment was to provide new teachers with a seminar about English learners in the classroom. Many other institutions decided to host two day seminars, but we decided to create an online assessment to allow students to complete the required amount of hours at their own pace. I expect to learn the process of submitting proposals for conferences. I plan to pursue a doctorate degree and making presentations in an important part of continuing education.
Project Artifacts:
I will post the conference proposal and a powerpoint.
The proposal needs to meet the requirements of the conference in regards to the topic and time allowed. Also the powerpoint needs to be clear, with short titles, and follow a good pace to keep the audience engaged in the presentation.
The conference proposal needs to effectively explain your presentation, the purpose and the goal, most importantly how it fit’s the chosen conference overall topic. The powerpoint needs to follow effective powerpoint use techniques in order to provide the most important information and keep the audience engaged in the presentation.
Project Timeline:
The project will start January 22 and end on March 4. My plan is to present this at all available conferences and submission starts at the later part of the year. My focus will be to collect all important data. This includes the design and development process, testing, and compilation of student feedback. Before the end of the project I need to create a sample proposal for one technology conference and also the powerpoint that will accompany the presentation. All of this will be posted on my blog.
